A growing community.

Discover an emerging community – surrounded by natural beauty – within easy reach of Concord, Worcester, and Greater Boston.

More than just a place to live – a place to belong.

Devens, Massachusetts, is a village that includes parts of Harvard, Shirley, and Ayer. From 1917 to 1996, the village was home to Fort Devens, one of the largest and most significant United States Army bases in New England. Emerson Green represents the latest chapter in the proud history of Devens, as part of MassDevelopment’s comprehensive re-use plan for this dynamic, scenic region.

Highly convenient

Emerson Green lies just two miles north of Route 2 and offers easy access to Route 495 and I-190. The restaurants, museums, and shopping opportunities of Leominster, Concord, and Worcester are less than 30 minutes away, and residents can be in downtown Boston within an hour. Emerson Green is also conveniently located less than two miles from the Fitchburg-South Acton Commuter Rail line.

Educational and professional offerings

School-age children at Emerson Green can attend Harvard’s highly rated public school system. Mount Wachusett Community College maintains a satellite campus in Devens, offering two-year programs in biotechnology and biomanufacturing. Nearby employers include a growing list of high-profile companies such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Johnson Matthey Pharma Services, N.B. Kenney Mechanical Contractors, and New England Studios.

Nature at your doorstep

Nestled among existing, mature trees, Emerson Green is just a short distance from the paths and hiking trails of Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge, which offers recreational opportunities that range from bird watching and canoeing to snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. The nearby Red Tail Golf Club was named the area’s Best Public Golf Course by Boston Magazine in 2013. Devens also provides a centrally located starting point for enjoying all the natural beauty of New England, with the lakes of New Hampshire, the beaches of the North Shore, Cape Cod, Rhode Island, and the coast of Maine all less than two hours away.
